Graduate Ecologists – CA Ecology

About Us

CA Ecology is a thriving ecological consultancy based in rural Hampshire, with views over the River Test. We combine scientific rigour with a supportive culture.

The Role

As a Graduate Ecologist, you’ll be part of our busy team based in Overton, Hampshire. You’ll assist in a wide range of field and desk-based ecological work across the South of England, including:

  • Conducting species and habitat surveys (bats, great crested newts, badgers, reptiles, otters, water voles, etc.)
  • Collecting, managing and analysing field data
  • Supporting desk studies and UK Habitat surveys
  • Assisting with technical report writing

Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for recent graduates to develop practical skills and advance towards industry-recognised qualifications and licences (including bat-licensing).

Contract Details

  • Full-time role (40 hrs per week as standard)
  • Fixed term: 5–7 months from April, with potential for extension or permanent appointment
  • Salary: £25,500 per annum

Person Specification
What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in ecology, zoology, environmental science or related subject
  • A flexible attitude and willingness to work unsociable hours when required
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
  • A genuine passion for ecological fieldwork and conservation
  • Local residence (within 1 hour of the Overton office)
  • Membership of CIEEM desirable but not essential
